Intellicheck:

Identity Validation for Automotive

Webinar Description

Identity Theft is a problem that is rapidly gaining momentum in the automotive market. Almost every day we read about how the “bad guys” are presenting false identity documents to dealers that look like legitimate credentials and contain real data that will pass a credit inquiry.

These occurrences are often organized by gangs who purchase real identities on the dark web and then have fake credentials produced with their photos instead of the actual owner of the license. Point Predictive estimates that auto lenders endured over $7.7 billion in exposure due to fraud and misrepresentation during 2021. Here’s an example of this type of Identity Theft from August of this year: California Attorney General Rob Bonta today announced the guilty plea and sentencing of Jean Parret, who carried out an extensive identity theft and grand theft scheme across several Southern California counties. Parret used victims’ stolen identities to open lines of credit and purchase numerous high-end vehicles from car dealerships, resulting in losses of over $400,000.

This webinar will provide you with insights on how your dealership can help fight this fraud with simple tools that can even improve the customer buying experience while protecting your dealership.
